With offices in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico City, New York, Chicago, Arkansas, Texas, Minnesota & Los Angeles- it’s a cherished moment when we manage to be in the same place at the same time! Today we decided we would all put on a Magdalena and so here you have it….How We Wear Ours!

We have been seeing some serious love for the Pax Multicross Necklace in the blogger world lately! The oh so stylish Bobby Raffin shows us boys wear it too! And the lovely Jess of Fresh Jess wears hers as a bracelet! As i mentioned in my last post, the PAX Multicross Necklace by Virgins Saints & Angels is probably our most versatile piece. I made a little video to prove my point because everything is better with music in the background!
How would you wear yours?! We have a Pax Multicross Necklace to give away to one lucky reader!

The Pax Multicross Necklace is probably the single most versatile piece in the entire Virgins Saints & Angels line. This piece appeared in 2010 as part of our Pax collection. PAX is the Latin word for peace and appears above the cross on the San Benito medallion. We took this element from our favorite and most popular symbol as inspiration for a sister-line to the San Benito Collection. The collection is particularly sentimental to me as it marked the moment when I first felt I had truly begun to master the art of CAD (computer aided design). VSA invested in a CAD-CAM machine in 2009 and I was lucky enough to be given the position of CAD Designer. After much practice, and some very embarrassing first results (my robot looking bird never made it out of the studio) I set to work on the cherished San Benito. I managed to create a perfect replica and then began experimenting with cutting out the negative space and extracting the stand out elements; the bold even cross and the PAX above it; giving the medallion a more edgy modern feel. By doming the medallion we created the San Benito bead!
This was a new look for VSA and a whole new process; we worked with an incredible factory in Mexico City specializing in this kind of intricate design, and although we appreciated the high standard of their work; in the end it just couldn’t compare to the artisan aesthetic of our hand-made look, that unmistakable VSA style! Some of the pieces stuck around for quite some time and two of them have become best sellers- the PAX Magdalena, because let’s face it- it’s a Magdalena! And today’s featured item- The Pax Multicross Bead Necklace. Using natural stone beads as featured in most of our Rosaries and a mix of Silver and Antique Bronze, the Pax Multicross has become a favorite to many.
There are several ways to wear it, as pictured below. Wear it as a long single strand or double it up for a shorter version, layer it with the Pax Magdalena or your other favorite necklaces; wrap it around your wrist as a bracelet; and you can even wrap it around your waist for a cute accent to a dress or top! (We are not promising one size fits all on this but you can always use two linked together if you need to, which would give you some great extra length to dangle!)
The possibilities are endless! Wear it around your ankle, on your upper arm, braided in your hair (make sure you have someone to help you get it out at the end of the night or you could end up in a tangled mess!) Am I missing something? We would love to hear your ideas on how to wear it!
Talk about serendipity! If you happened to read my Down To Business post last week you will know that i declared this Blazer by Alexander McQueen my absolute dream blazer. Well the very next day I paid a visit to my favorite DTLA designer resale boutique; Buttons & Bows, and what do you think I found?! That’s right- the dream blazer!! So here is my very own Down To Business look, accessorized with The PAX Multicross Necklace, Shadow Necklace, Four Virgins Ring and Small San Benito Ring. All by Virgins Saints & Angels
My love affair with Virgins Saints & Angels started many years ago and I adore just about every piece we make. There are of course a few pieces I wouldn’t really wear; the Magdalena- our number one! is one of those. The girls on my team think I’m crazy but I will only wear the Magdalena long, it just doesn’t feel right when I wear it short. When we designed the Magdala, a re-dux of our classic, I was sure it wasn’t for me. But then I put it on…..
Not only did the Magdala feel right- two ladies stopped me in my tracks to ask about it! Our classic Magdalena Necklace is named for…..that’s right- Mary Magdalene or “Mary from Magdala” as is commonly assumed. Our new version of this classic is named after the fertile land once traced by her footsteps. We used Swarovski Crystal and Pearl Beads in tones reminiscent of the sea of Galilee; rich mocca, red magma, vintage gold, white opal and deep night blue- evoking the grandeur of these waters and their majestic shores. The first-century historian Flavius Josephus once wrote of the area, “One may call this place the ambition of Nature.”
I myself am not a religious person and like to read between the lines when it comes to scripture- taking pieces from the Bible, the Koran, the Bhagavad Gita- that speak to my heart and nourish my soul. Whatever your religious beliefs, whoever you believe Mary to have been- her status as the oldest and most cherished female icon is indisputable. We have seen countless pop stars such as Madonna and Lady Gaga, make reference and pay tribute to her in their own whacky ways. Fashion magazines repeatedly interpret her in editorial spreads. Artists re-invent her in paintings and sculpture. Her essence is present every time a person takes a stand against all odds, every time one endures an imaginable hardship, when one finds the strength to fight an unbeatable battle; every time a mother sacrifices or suffers for her child. She is in each and every one of us- however you choose to tap in.
In Aramaic, “Magdala” means “elevated, great, magnificent” and we promise this is exactly how you’ll feel when you slip into the Magdala!

Get down to business in this sharp but causal style rocked by stars such as Cheryl Cole, Kate Moss and Blake Lively.
A sharp blazer is an absolute must-have in every girls closet and will give your favorite jeans and blouse a sophisticated edge; dress it up with a killer pair of pumps, or play it down with a great pair of flats. Accessories are key to this no-nonsense look! We’ve picked the Resurrection Cuff as our statement piece; layer the Betty Necklace, Archangel Rosary, and Pearl Pax Magdalena to add a touch of rocker-chic. (Shana wears blazer and blouse by SW3 Bespoke with her favorite jeans)
We all have our favorites when it comes to jeans but if we had to pick just three it would have to be; Diesel, for heavy-duty last-a-lifetime denim; Mother, for the perfect bell bottom (and because we are obsessed with their ad campaigns);and of course J Brand, for the staple black skinny’s that will never go out of style.
When you think of blazers what’s the first brand that pops into your head? I’m guessing it’s J Crew, and yes they really do make a perfect blazer; available in just about every color possible! Asos have some incredible styles to choose from but in my opinion the ultimate blazer is this one by Alexander McQueen.
What would you wear? Flats or heels? Personally I like to head out in heels, with a great pair of flats in my hand bag! Years of living on the cobblestone streets in VSA’s hometown; San Miguel de Allende, have ruined me for heels! But now a city girl once again- I’m practicing!
